Political Almanac runs politicalalmanac.com and a nonpartisan video series. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- When you sign up: your email address. If you choose to give them, also your first name, the state you want first, and what best describes you (for example, journalist or campaign staff).
- If you answer our optional survey or join the Pro waitlist: the state you'd like next, your role, your organization, and your interest in Political Almanac Pro.
- When you visit: like most websites, our hosting and security provider receives technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, and runs a bot check on our forms.
We don't ask for your political views.
How we use it
- To send the emails you signed up for, including when your state goes live and occasional updates.
- To decide which states to cover next and to understand who our audience is.
- To contact you about Political Almanac Pro, if you joined the waitlist.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam.
Who processes it
We use service providers that handle data on our behalf: Kit (kit.com) stores our email list and sends our emails, and Cloudflare hosts this site and provides security. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
We don't sell your personal information. We won't share your individual information with campaigns, parties or advertisers without your explicit consent.
Your choices
- Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To see, correct or delete your information, email [email protected].
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we remove it from active use, keeping only what we need to honor your request or comply with the law.
Children
This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. For significant changes, we'll also let subscribers know by email.
